This is the text of the speech of the National Librarian/CEO of the National Library of Nigeria, Prof Chinwe Veronica Anunobi at the commemoration of the 2022 International literacy day held at the knosk N100-A-Day-School on Thursday 8th September 2022
Description
International Literacy Day. A day that is set aside to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and to advocate for a more literate and sustainable society. The day was declared by UNESCO on 26th October 1966, with a view to raising awareness on issues surrounding literacy within our local and global communities.
