This paper examines Economics education and its impact on sustainable development. The main data used for this study are secondary data from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Statistical Bulletin 2010. The paper provides insight into various challenges confronting Economics education in Nigeria such as poor remuneration and poor working conditions of Economics teachers, inadequate instructional materials, overcrowding of students in classrooms, inadequate infrastructural facilities, poor funding of Economics education, poor teaching methodology, teacher incompetency, etc
