In the Book Trials of the Heart, the three men did not simply return to the lives they had left behind. The island had unmade them and stitched them back together, thread by thread, with love and empathy and a compassion that bled into every word they spoke. They walked through the world differently now — softer, truer — and the world softened in turn.
Years slipped by like tides. Yet the island called them home.
They stood again on that salt-washed shore, older, weathered, but unbroken. The wind carried the scent of frangipani and memory.
“We’re still whole,” Ethan said, and his smile was the kind that survives storms.
“We’re still found,” Julian murmured, as if he’d spent years rehearsing the truth of it.
“We’re still seeing,” Liam said, and the tears that brightened his eyes were not grief, but witness.
