dc.descriptionThis inaugural annual report covers the operational and financial performance of the Western State Agricultural Credit Corporation (WSACC) from its establishment on October 1, 1973, through December 31, 1974. Created via Edict No. 8 of 1973 to manage agricultural credit independently following the dissolution of the Western State Agricultural and Industrial Investment Corporation, WSACC was established to stimulate agricultural production and increase farming incomes in the Western State of Nigeria. The Corporation successfully secured financial assistance from the Western State Government, the Federal Military Government Emergency Food Production Programmed, and a major credit agreement with the Nigerian Agricultural Bank. These funds enabled WSACC to execute the largest supervised agricultural credit scheme in the state, granting over N1.3 million in loans to more than 8,000 primary producers, primarily targeting cocoa, rice, maize, and livestock production.
