Abstract

In general, this Report follows the arrangement adopted for the Board’s First Annual Report. It is divided into nine main sections under the following headings; on a Membership and Meetings of the Board and its Representative Committees, and Executive Arrangements, Producer Price Policies : Palm Oil, Palm Kernels, Cocoa, Benniseed and Soya Beans. Marketing Arrangements in the Eastern Region. Review of Operations. Selling Organisation and Arrangements. Financial Allocations for Economic Development and Research. Board’s Accounts and Financial Position.

This Report, the Second Annual Report ofthe Eastern Regional Market￾ing Board, has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of Section 33 (1) ofthe Eastern Regional Marketing Board Law which reads as follows— “As soon as may be after the thirty-first day of December in each year the Board shall prepare a report of its operations during the preceding year and shall forward such report to the Minister together with a certified copy of the audited accounts of the Board.” The Board’s Second Annual Report has been prepared accordingly and covers the period 1st January 1956 to 31st December 1956.
