This is the first of a series of future publications by which Asaba Development Association seeks to provide essential information about the ancient city of Asaba for the general public. And nothing could be more apt than the time this book is published. This is prompted at a time when certain changes and developments in the country's values are taking place. These changes and developments are not only political and social but are also economic and even religious in nature. Besides, the cultural reawakening* and rediscovery which spanned the entire spectrum of the society has no less impact on the production of this book.
