This book is just a summary of my manuscript titled "The Complete History of Obe — From the Earliest Times to the Present Day" which I could not wholly publish as planned due to financial constraint. However, this is a pioneering endeavor to research and construct an authentic, authoritative, and fast-moving concise history of Obe as an Igbo community. Since ages, little or nothing has been meticulously and elaborately done in this respect of which the cumulative effect has been that an indepth analysis and knowledge of the making of Obe seems to be rapidly eluding the memories of the present generation. Obe is one of the twenty fight autonomous communities in Nkanu Local Government Area of Anambra State. She lies approximately between Latitude 6° 30' Nonh and Longitude 7° 30’ East1 and can be located along Enugu Ozalla-Agbani Road, or exactly between Ozalla and Umueze Awkunanaw communities along the same road. She is about 19kms South-East of Enugu and occupies an area of about 20 square kilometres."2 The area lies on an outcrop of low hills. The soil is largely of laterite nature, but it appears to be quite fertile. The area is fairly well wooded and very well-watered"3 and its centre is over 180 metres above sea-level.
