dc.description | Doghọ was an Itsekiri man, born probably in the early 1860s. The Itsekiri kingdom is located in the north western extremity of the Niger Delta. Most of the kingdom lies in the mangrove swamp belt of the delta. There is very little firm land in this area. The kingdom itself is, in fact, a snall one made up of a number of small settlements mainly along the Rivers Benin and Warri. A large number of creeks connect these rivers as well as the River forcados, the other river which waters the kingdom. | |
