The Federal Ministry of Education is the federal ministry responsible for formulating education policy, setting national curriculum standards, and overseeing the administration of federal educational institutions from basic to tertiary level in Nigeria. The Ministry coordinates the Universal Basic Education programme, regulates universities and polytechnics through supervisory agencies, manages the federal scholarship board, and implements education sector development plans. It interfaces with state governments, which have primary responsibility for basic and secondary education delivery.
