Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) is the national data protection regulator established by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. The Commission is responsible for enforcing data protection rights of Nigerians, regulating the processing of personal data by organisations, issuing guidelines and frameworks for data governance, and investigating data breaches and violations. The NDPC replaced the earlier regulatory role performed by NITDA under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) of 2019, providing a more robust and independent data protection authority.
