National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is the federal agency established by the NITDA Act 2007 to implement the National Information Technology Policy and regulate IT practices in Nigeria. NITDA develops standards and guidelines for information technology, drives e-government implementation, regulates data protection compliance under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and supports the growth of indigenous IT companies and the local software industry. It also coordinates Nigeria's digital literacy and digital skills development programmes.
