National Directorate of Employment (NDE)

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) is a federal agency established by Decree No. 24 of 1989 to design and implement programmes for reducing unemployment in Nigeria. The NDE runs vocational skills acquisition programmes, apprenticeship schemes, rural employment promotion initiatives, and special public works programmes targeted at unemployed Nigerians, particularly youth and school leavers. It operates through a network of offices across Nigeria's states and local government areas, collaborating with the private sector and technical institutions.
