Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF)

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) is the federal agency responsible for providing social insurance protection to Nigerian employees in both the public and private sectors. Established by the NSITF Act 1993 and reorganised by Decree No. 73 of 1993, the Fund collects employer contributions and pays benefits to workers who are injured, disabled, or killed in the course of employment. NSITF administers the Employee Compensation Scheme (ECS) under the Employee Compensation Act 2010, which replaced the Workmen's Compensation Act.
