Federal Housing Authority (FHA)

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) is the federal agency responsible for constructing and managing affordable residential housing for Nigerians. Established by Decree No. 40 of 1973, the FHA develops housing estates across the country, provides housing allocations to federal civil servants, and implements mass housing programmes in partnership with private developers. The FHA manages one of the largest housing portfolios in Africa and plays a central role in the government's strategy to close the estimated 28-million-unit housing deficit in Nigeria.
