National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI)

The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) is the federal agency responsible for the protection, assistance, and durable solutions for refugees, returnees, migrants, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nigeria. The Commission implements Nigeria's obligations under the 1951 UN Refugee Convention, the 1969 OAU Refugee Convention, and the Kampala Convention, and works closely with UNHCR, IOM, and other international partners in managing displacement crises particularly in the North East and Middle Belt regions.
