National Population Commission (NPopC)

The National Population Commission (NPopC) is a federal statutory body established by Decree No. 23 of 1992 (now Cap N150, Laws of the Federation 2004) with the mandate to conduct the national population census, collect and analyse demographic data, and advise the government on population matters. NPopC is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive database of Nigeria's demographic statistics and producing vital registration data that informs national development planning, resource allocation, and policy formulation.
