Senate of Nigeria

The Senate of Nigeria is the upper chamber of the National Assembly, comprising 109 senators — three from each of the 36 states and one from the Federal Capital Territory. Presided over by the Senate President, the Senate considers and passes federal legislation, confirms presidential appointments including ministers, ambassadors, and heads of federal agencies, approves treaties, and serves as the upper legislative check on executive power. The Senate also has oversight powers over federal ministries and agencies.
