It will therefore take volumes to compound the place and the role of,Chief Awolowo in the historical chequer of Nigeria. March 6, 1986 Chief Obafemi Awolowo turns 77 and whatever amount of writing that will eulogise his name, it cannot be more than the aspect one would like to focus. At 77 and with the long established tradition of annual birthday celebration, Nigeians will witness March 6 as another milestone. The juice of Awolowo's birthday celebration in so far it is possible to figure out, is going to be a stock of eventful happenings which the celebrant together with others who shared the same ideal had shaped for Nigeria in order to uplift the cause of a nation. | |
