This official publication contains the 1973–74 budget address delivered on May 5, 1973, by the Administrator of the East-Central State of Nigeria, His Excellency Ukpabi Asika. Marking the final lap of the National Four-Year Development Plan, the address outlines the state’s financial allocations, revenue achievements, and transitional strategies from post-civil war reconstruction to long-term economic development. For the 1973–74 financial year, the government provided an appropriation of N82.9 million for recurrent expenditure against an estimated current revenue of N71.8 million, while appropriating N59.6 million for capital expenditure against N31 million in capital receipts.
