dc.descriptionThe course highlights issues of health in broad perspectives; ranging from various periods of recorded history, that is, from the antiquity to present times. The development and growth of public health from its inception are addressed. The various actors in the course of its development and the various roles played by each of them are highlighted. Also, the course traces the development of modern public health in Nigeria, that is, the development of health services and the basic health services to the development of the national primary health care system are highlighted.
