EUPHORBIA is an annual scientific journal of the botanical society, University of Jos which primarily serves as a communication medium between the staff and students of the botany department on one hand and the general reading public, on the other hand. In this issue emphasis is focused on the role of botany in the development of agriculture especially as it affects Nigeria. Articles were received from men and women of intellect both within and outside the University commnity. I hope this publication will provide the informational basis for the stimulation of innovation and improvement in the teaching and study of botany.
