It describes the activities of many of the national institutions. The year book does not claim to be comprehensive; nor does it attempt to cover Nigeria's participation in world affairs. The factual and statistical information it contains is compiled from official and authoritative sources, and most sections of the book relate to Nigeria as a whole. The bloodless coup of July 29, 1975 which brought General Murtala Ramat Muhammed to power is highlighted as well as the reforms and major achievements of the General up to October 31, 1975 (vide Day-to-Day Events).
